Hi:
I ripped a DVD onto my HD and now want to resample and resize it to fit onto a 1GB mem stick in mpeg4 format. I know recode will convert the ripped vob files to .mpeg4. What sw can I use to resize the .vob file on my HD to something less dense (i.e. 320 x 240) and run those files into Recode to convert to mpeg4???
Thanks

AutoGK would probably be the easiest, and I'd think you'd get better quality if you encoded/resized instead of resize/encode. Make sure to read the guide and follow the instructions for width settings under hidden options. You won't need to run the file through Recode afterward.

Hi!

Using tools such as AutoGK suggested by "CWR03" or MPEGMediator, you should have no trouble in producing a DivX (a variant of MPEG4)-compressed .AVI of less than 1Gb - without having to reduce the resolution...

If you want to use it on a PSP then there are other topics about this, like this one: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=100116
