First of all, I would like to say thanks to the author(s) of this software for the hard work they put into it. I realise that everyone has to move on at some point to better ventures. Thanks for everything you gave us.
However
I had my first bad expierience with AGK. I am using the final release and encoding a Music DVD (tried DivX and Xvid) and both come out with the same results. Over Modulation on the Audio. Now I went back and checked the .VOBs and all is fine on them audio wise. The suspect file here is normalize.exe. Since the person who created the music dvd already engineered the audio to peak levels I am thinking when AGK normalizes it again that it distorts the sound.
Can anyone shed some light on this matter.
Much Appreciated.
:thanks:

Well, no one else has responded so I will comment. First, you say you tried Xvid and Dvix--that's irrelevant to the audio question--to my knowledge it's handled the same regardless of the video codec used.
I've never had a problem with the audio conversion, but if it's a music video why don't you just change the Advanced setting to leave the audio alone?
In any case I too am interested in where/how the audio tweaking is done. Anybody?

older versions of autogk used different programs to process audio. I think there was no normalizing step. I dont know where you can get older AGK versions, though.

Well .. first of all as laserfan said, video codec has noyhing to do with audio ..
secondly when using autogk, you have very less control over audio settings [well frankly speaking no control... just abr or vbr choice] .. well i never had any problems with regard to audio .. but i will suggest that you use GordianKnot if you want to disable normalize feature .. in that case you can encode audio as per ur likings ... though GK is a bit complex in compared to autogk but a very easy guide is available in the guides section ..

Hi and welcome to the forum,
What is possible:
- use original audio?
- no normalize?
- other ?
Use original audio: yes (AC3, DTS or MP2).
No normalize; no but with the original audio you can make you own audio encode to mp3 and/or other audio codecs, without or with normalize; your choice.
I use original audio with Belight to transcode to aac for mp4/mkv (with normalize ;) )
Other?
