hello my friends.
there are my questions.
please help...
im trying to use in maximum sony dvd architect 3.
because i think it is the most professional dvd authoring software right now.
(or not?which is more professional-better in your opinion? from it?)
when i prepared a dvd there was a choice:
WRITE MASTER
PREPARE THE CURRENT PROJECT AND create mastering files to be sent to an authoring facility , or create mastering files from a previously prepared project.
i searched a lot in web but i did not find
what is (create mastering files)&(what is an authoring facility?)
my last question:
how can i burn on a dvd the mastering files???

ps.
in a review of dvd architect i readed that.
Copy-protection tools (CSS and MacrovisionŽ)

I can take the easy question: an authoring facility is a factory where they make real DVDs out the files you sent them. Also known as a replication plant. In this process they add CSS to the DVD if desired. The files are usually sent there on a DLT tape, sometimes a separate tape for each DVD layer. Those are the mastering files. Normally, it would be an ISO image but they may accept a set of IFO/VOB files, too.

I suggest you to create mastering files for your project and see how they look like. If it's one huge file then it's an ISO image, or perhaps there would be a bunch of IFO/VOB files, or could be both. In either case, you can burn it with Nero or whatever you fancy. Start with a small project that fits on a single layer DVD and burn onto RW disc as a test.

If you can't figure out what these mastering files are after you've created them, post the file list here so somebody might help you better.

P.S. If you're really looking for professional DVD authoring software, then on Windows platform it would be Scenarist. However, for home use DVD Architect could be more than enough, especially for a beginner.
