I am planning on converting all of my family Guy dvd's to xvid using AutoGK.
I feel that there are two ways of going about it. I can rip the individual episodes using DVDdecryptor and encode this way, or... I can make an .iso of the dvd's and just use file mode to encode the individual vobs. The latter solution will make things a lot easier for me.
Seeing as i do not want subtitles, and each episode has its own .vob, are there any disadvantages to the "file mode" method that I should know about?

Yes, you'll end up with one file with all the episodes on the DVD in it. File mode will not separate them. ISO will not work with AutoGK either; only IFO will give you the individual episodes.

If each episode is in it's own VTS, and you rip each disc to a different subdirectory, then there is nothing wrong with using FILE mode. Each episode will be able to setup within a batch in AGK. I do this myself.

It's only when multiple episodes are in the one VTS, that I rip in IFO mode.

You don't want to be ripping in ISO mode or making ISO's to then try to use as input to AGK - a waste of time and you can't use an ISO as direct input into AGK as CWR03 points out.
