I cannot read it. This happens with some DVD disc brands I've been using lately. But the ones I've gotten from Staples seem to work well. Any idea why this is happening?

Oh and I tried looking at the DVD on a friend's laptop and it loaded but showed nothing on the disc.

Now that you've found what works well for you, stick with it...

Well the thing is the old discs use to work just fine with burning and reading. It's just been happening recently.

Are you doing multisessions?
What app are you burning with?
Do the old discs not load on the drive you burn't them with?
Have you checked the dvd media codes? Sometimes they'll chnge the disc but not the print.

No multisessions. Well currently I've been burning data DVDs with a program called DeepBurner. I would use nero but it keeps freezing up on me during the burn.

The old discs still work, the new ones don't however.

DVD media codes? I'm guessing you mean the DVDs. But I'm using them from the same pile (the same spindle).

Also strangely my sister burned me a DVD of music and some anime to upload to her website. It worked on her computer but when I arrived at my dorm and tried it on mine, it wouldn't read. Then I let my roomate try on his labtop and it didn't work either..
