View Full Version : Stupid question on 3 click method

Sorry, I'm tired and too damn lazy to search right now even though I'm willing to bet this was probably answered already. I've been using the final release a lot today and am absolutely LOVING it. It works perfectly. My stupid question is this...after doing the prepare and then selecting stuff to remove, is there a way to have it encode and rebuild automagically after that? Or do I still have to do those two steps manually? I thought I read something about this a few days ago but can't remember now. Again, I apologize for my laziness on this one. Thanks so much!

- Enabled a type of "2-Click" mode for those using add-ons following PREPARE. Now you can click REBUILD following a PREPARE and it if ENCODE has not already been performed, it will be automatically executed. It can also be used to RESUME jobs that were stopped during ENCODE.

I've tested the new 2-Click-Mode two nights ago and it works perfectly, thanks Jerry! :)
The only disadvantage, you can't shut your PC down automaticly after 2-Click-Mode.

As a suggestion:
Could you remove "Shutdown at One-Click Completion" and replace it with "Shutdown at Rebuild Completion"?
This would have the advantage that you could use this user-friendly option in every three modes: 1-Click, 2-Click and 3-Click.

I thought I had read something about it. Jeeze I need to pay attention more. :) Thanks guys for the response. That's highly useful and I do agree with your suggestion, as well. So far I have to say that this version is SERIOUSLY kuel and works very well. I am extremely pleased with the results I'm seeing.

I love the "2-Click" method! It'll be nice to be able to select the option to auto shutdown, standby, or hibernate after encoding has started. I notice there's an OneClick entry in ini file. Maybe change that to reflect 1,2,3-Click method to:

AutoShutdown=0 (no shutdown), 1 (shutdown), 2 (standby), 3 (hibernate).

Many times I put my pc on standy or hibernate so I can start back up quickly, and don't have to reopen apps again.

So, have Rebuilder read the ini file for this entry after Rebuild process has finished. This way the user can either select the option via menu or modify the ini directly during any of the 3 phases.

Is this doable, jdobbs?

Remember also that if you are doing a batch job it is possible to enable the "Skip Prepare in Batch" option,

while we are at it - i have asked about this before but would like to repeat me wish once again:

when selecting numerous vts in order to apply HALF D1 could you add an option to select ALL vts and then manually remove one (or more by eg. crtl+click)

it is very tidious to click some 5-10 entries because one has to go the whole nine yards

options => avs options => advanced expert options => resize to half d1 => xxx

could you not alter the current option of selecting all and afterwards STILL be able to deselect some entries?

and one more thing that i have come across quite often recently:

could you please add these pieces of information to the logfile:

- DATE
i often make testruns and they usually take place in the same directory and thus existing logfiles will be taken up again by rb and the latest conversions added.
it is very difficult keeping track of which conversions was done WHEN

- steal space form extras PERCENTAGE
steal space is being logged but could it also display WHICH particluar option was used?

- VTS_xx RESIZEd TO HALF D1 added to the logfile
i would like to keep this information and a log-file stating it would make it much more convenient

- TITLE + PATH of converted movie added to the log-file

i should think that log-file additions wont cost you much time and the *add ALL but be able to change selection in half d1* is almost there so i hope i'm not asking too much

i would really appreciate these changes
