suppose there are a series of sources needed to compile into one program.

what is your opinion on using all CVS versions for these sources, including the CVS for that one program? (as opposed to downloading 'stable' releases and working with those)

only mingw, msys, tools (on windowsxp) used to compile are stable releases.

objective: a script which grabs all (possible) CVSes, SVNs, configure, compile all sources, do whatever necessary...and finally create the resulting program/s.

[a script to grab stable releases is quite difficult because their names or version numbers changes.]

edit: never mind. :sly: i managed...

edit2: here is the single script to compile latest x264.exe, mplayer.exe and mencoder.exe in one shot. it has the most pretentious name of "one-script-x264-mplayer-CVS-builder"

internet connection required, amongst other things - read the comments in the script.
