I hope this is the correct forum as this seems to be more of an issue with DVB than DVD.

I've reccently purchased a Toppy PVR to record programmes off Freeview in the UK.

When I've demuxed the rec files to m2v & mpa streams I want to bring them into a DVD Authoring program to work with - ideally Spruce Maestro.

First issue is the resolution which is easily patched with Restream 0.90. Spruce imports the video and audio with no issues, but as soon as I go to drop the file onto the movie timeline, the application pauses then goes BANG!

Scenarist also crashes on import.

Obviously there is something Spruce doesn't like about the file - by the looks of it Nero Vision Express will re-encode the file, which ideally I don't want to do.

All suggestions very much welcome!

Do a ProjectX search on this site as well.

Thanks Pookie, but I have already tried this, and as far as I can tell, when you import the m2p (renamed mpg) into Nero, it will transcode it - My 690MB MPG was going to fill 2GB of disc space!

Or am I missing some setting somewhere?

Your Nero Recode Settings must be set at too high a bitrate if the final size is that big.

You can try an experiment with Rejig . Under file mode, you can transcode your source mpeg2 video file to (hopefully) be DVD compliant. Use 2 pass and specify your final file size. http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ReJig
