i'm gonna buy my first dvb-s pci card
and i narrowed it down to this 2 cards:
-WinTV Nova (CI) PCI
-SkyStar 2

what i want is:
-watch dvb-s, including ac3 over my soundcard and using the tv-out of my graphic-card
-record, including ac3 (multiple audio channels of the same program at the same time if possible and hdtv)
-time shifting
-have the choice between variouse softwares (using win xp)

my satelite is astra

i hope you can give me some advise on the advantages of either card
(please not just say "xxx is better" with no words on why)

thx

SS2 is better, there is no doubt but you cannot run Win MCE which might work with the Nova card, MediaPortal works with SS2. I'm running a SS2 with DVBViewer, it's very feature rich inkl. automation (COM) interfaces. It's not free nor bug free but imho a very good investment.

SS2+SkyView (free program) = IMHO best
