If I mux this (http://forum.gleitz.info/attachment.php?attachmentid=76070&d=1128628847) avi with YAMB 1.3.1 into an mp4 file like this (http://forum.gleitz.info/attachment.php?attachmentid=76072&d=1128630726), I can't get Xvid to decode the audio stream. (using haalis splitter)
Is this intended, is this a bug?
Did I miss something?
Is it my system?
(ffdshow, 3ivx, Nero all work fine as decoder)

xvid doesn't decode audio. perhaps the audio you used (I can't check due to not being at home) wasn't properly muxed into mp4.

there's no audio in the avi or mp4 file, so this shouldn't be the problem :)

I can't get Xvid to decode the video stream. (using haalis splitter)
same problem here
haali splitter seems unable to connect to xvid decoder in mp4 like clsid here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=719962#post719962) said...

oh, overlooked that post and I'm surprised that it seems to work for lrms in MPC
Personally I tried with TCMP and Graphedit,..

Well, actually I just said it worked with MKV, not MP4 containers.
I tested muxing an MPEG4 ASP file (FMP4) in MP4 and with Haali splitter MPC would only use ffdshow or Nero (when ffshow mp4v is disabled) decoders. But using ffdshow I can force it to let XVID decode the video.

haali uses the "FORMAT_MPEG2Video" datatype to report video dimensions when demuxing MP4 container files. i have modified dshow to support this datatype. see cvs head.
