What’s the easiest way to edit the audio in an avi? I want to censor some the soundtrack.

GoldWave has a censoring plugin, however it aint freeware.

Freeware if possible. I'd like to know how to get at the audio. Do I need to split off the audio track and reattach it? How would I do that?
