Hi.

I have skystar2 DVB-S card.
I used progDVB for recording. I recorded video as PVA... No problem with recording, problem occurs, when i want to demux with ProjectX.
I get this error like million times
[00:48:49.796] !> GOP# 121, PES_header and extension found in ES, filled with zero... (GOP offs. 219684) I turned messaging off so that i can "normally" demux to 100%...

When projectX is done, it only creates m2v (video) file, without mpa (audio). Why?
If I use any other program for recorind, like DVBViewer, then everything is fine, projectX has no errror, i get m2v and mpa files. Problem is only with progDVB, anyone know, how i can fix this? And don't tell me "use DVBViewer then" :)

thy for your help

I'm guessing you don't have something set properly in the audio section of ProjectX or are skipping the choice to demux the audio somehow. Seems like X is skipping the audio track intentionally, rather than error-ing out. See the online help for ProjectX here: http://www.doom9.org/?/DigiTV/projectx-fullguide.htm . I don't know the PVA file format, so I can't really tell you the specific boxes to tick. You could try your luck with PVAstrumento if you don't figure it out in ProjectX.

And, you can't rule out a setting in progDVB. On their homepage, click on Plugins/Filters and install "PID Scanner". That should give you some specific info as to where the audio is located in the file, or at least on the channel you're recording from.

Using another application might be the best solution. I experienced problems with this combination as well. I paid 15€ for DVBViewer just out of curiosity and didn't regret. It's not perfect but imho better than everything else.

Well.. i tried with PVA strumento too. It crashes in cca 5 minutes... 0% done.
Don't know what is wrong. In the info that PVAstrumento has, everything is normal.

I'm now recording *.mpg files with progDVB and projectX is working fine with them... don't know whats wrong with *.pva files that progDVB records

Thanks for your answers.

I've encountered the same problem myself. Seems it hasn't been fixed since then, but then again, maybe I should've reported it on the ProgDVB forums. However, I really don't see what's wrong with recording to MPEG2 as opposed to PVA (unless of course you can't record to MPEG2 with your particular TV card), so I never bothered to report it. Link below:

EDIT: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75607 <- OK, I guess I'm not in the dark about PVA and MPEG anymore. =P

Yeah, the PVA recording of ProgDVB in combination with a Skystar2 can be problematic. (With a Skystar1, there is no problem at all.) ProgDVB seems to write some bogus information into these PVAs...

But you should be able to demux your recordings without real errors.
First, as you already said, you have to turn off the "PES header found in ES" logging. Second, you have to deactivate the option "PVA: strictly specs for audio streams" (iirc).
That should do it. At least that did it for me when I experienced that problem with ProgDVB some time ago.

Apart from ProjectX, PVAStrumento version 2.1 or higher 'should' be able to handle theses files, too. But with my problematic files back then I just used ProjectX, so I can't be sure about PVAStrumento.
