Hi...my dad introduced me to this site:
http://www.supermediastore.com
It has a lot of different brands, some that I've never heard of before.
I know that TDK is probably the best brand to buy, but they are very expensive. This site has some good offers on these brands:
"Prodisc"
"Taiyo Yuden"
"Linkyo"

Before you get a warning from a moderator, you may want to rephrase your question without asking "what's best," as stated in the rules.

It's not only quality that's important (actually, it's a secondary consideration) - COMPATIBILITY, with both your burner and the devices that will be used for playback is of primary importance:
To determine the capabilities/limitations of your DVD burner, as well as media compatibility, go to:
www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters
(If necessary, open the Device Manager in the Control Panel to determine the make and model number)
To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:
www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers

Also forget about brands, they don't matter. What does matter is who is the manufacturer of the disc and where it was manufactured.

Taiyo Yuden, period. Watch out for fakes. SuperMediaStore.com sells genuine Taiyo Yuden media.

Please read and follow forum rules, specifically, rule 12: do not ask what's best. Thank you. :readrule:

Taiyo Yuden hands down. Ritek has gotten worse over the years. These are the same answers you'll find everywhere.

celtic_druid is right.
I have used TDK marked disks made by CMC Magnetics, Taiyo Yuden, and of course TDK themselves.
Try DVD Identifier Here (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=DVD_Identifier) to determine who made the DVD. That way you will know which disks makes to use and which makes to avoid.
I have had no problem with Ritek myself but I have had compatibility issues with Prodisc. So what works for some burners may not work or be compatible with other burners.

yeah, the brand-v-manufacturer thing is a pain. but there is something to be added about quality control.
a good example is TDK discs - they're make by CMC magnetics, which is usually seen as a poor manufacturer. however, the TDK CMC discs are QC passed by TDK, and appear to be a lot better than stock CMC stuff (though apparently they've been getting better as ritek has reputedly got worse).
one brand you can be sure of getting decent stuff with is Verbatim. they use either TY or MCC (mitsubishi chemical) discs. both are very good, and you're not likely to get coasters with either.
one good rule of thumb: if it's a lite-on or sony drive (they are all made by lite-on), use +R discs. under no circumstances use -R discs. they'll only read to half way on other drives. the very latest drives may not exhibit this rather serious problem, but it's best to play safe. i trust Sony as far as i could kick them.

I've never had a problem with RiTek, even the newest 16X DVD-Rs. I had to send a batch of ProDiscs back because none of them would burn - failing anywhere from 10 to 50 percent of the way through.
I'm sure there are better discs than RiTek, but it's not worth the extra money. RiTek is good quality at a good price.

Now, as you said, Verbatim's QC specs might be higher than "plain" CMC, but still ...

In my country, there is only Verbatim provide it :(
And the price is very exp. about ~$8 / pcs... arg... :(
I hope more company will make it and the price
will drop like DVD-/+R now. :)

In the U.S., the pricing on D/L DVD+R has seen significant price reductions since they were first introduced (Verbatim D/L DVD+Rs were recently available at a special sale price of approximately $2.00 each) - and we'll probably see further reductions in the near future...
