Epsiodes Help!

Guys,

I promise I've tried a search and couldn't find the answer I'm after. I'm also unsure whether this is posted in the right part of the forum, please feel free to move, if needs be!

I am rippinng my DVD collection to my HTPC. I'm about to tackle my wifes 'Sex & the City' discs. How do I go about ripping epsiodes individually? (I'm using DVD Decrypter & AutoGK)

You probably should've put it in Decrypting (and you definitely should've used a more descriptive title), but anyway: switch to IFO mode in DVD Decrypter, then you will see the individual episodes by length. You'll have to rip them one at a time and rename the sub-folder with each episode, otherwise it'll overwrite the IFO.

On the flip side of this......I've ripped them all individually but my wife thought it would be better if they were combined, is there an easy way to take 5 or 6 vobs and create one xvid with autogk??

Well No, autogk needs IFO files as input, and vobs are ifo dependent VTS_01_0.IFO then u can't use autogk as it will take only first two VOBS into account, ]...
you can use GK if you want to have a single file ..

I'd leave them separate. If they are combined then it makes it harder to find a specific episode (you can't just jump straight to it with the press of a button).

Try DVD Decrypter in File mode, and under Tools > Settings, File Mode tab set file splitting to None. Re-rip the DVD and open it with DGIndex, which will allow you to scroll around more easily, and look at it - many episodic DVD's will rip the individual episodes into one large .vob in File mode. I agree with previous comments, though, why would she want them in one file? It only makes it difficult to find the beginning of a particular episode.
