I'm just wondering what kinds of results others are having using this script with VHS sources. Pros and Cons. I'd ask in the official thread but Didée has made it clear that he doesn't work with VHS. I've read others have used it but haven't read a good explaniation of how to. Your script samples would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks

IIP is very cool, but wrong for VHS captures. It was designed to make already decent looking source material look even better. I would instead look at Fizik's plugins ( http://bag.hotmail.ru/ ) - DeFreq and especially FFT3DFilter can dramatically improve the look of VHS material.

The point is not that iiP wasn't suited to work with VHS material in general.

But Pooke is completely right: iiP requires input of "reasonable" quality. Which probably isn't the case for most of the "usual" VHS material running along.
In particular, the denoising built into iiP in most cases is insufficient to fully clear up the artefacts typical for VHS. So one would first have to clean the footage with some dedicated filters, before feeding it into iiP.

Thanks for the replys. It is much appreciated. I'll take a look into Fizik''s plugins. I guess the point for my starting this was to see how people were using it with clean analog material. As Didée pointd out "iiP requires input of "reasonable" quality. Which probably isn't the case for most of the "usual" VHS material running along" So basically, I'm just curious on the who is using it for clean analog material. Becuase I know I've read it and I just want to see how the they used it for it.

Again, thanks for your time to reply.
