If i resize the movie to 1/2 DVD with DVD-RB the subtitles doesn't fit anymore. The horizontal resolution is doubled on my TV but it seems that the subtitles are also horizontal stretched. Is there a possibility to resize the subtitles too or another solution? Thanks for every hint.

P.S.: Excuse my bad english but it is not my motherlanguage. :(

What kind of player are you using?

I watch it on my TV with a Pioneer 434 DVD Player. Is the Player the Problem?

I recall testing some Button Over Video and Half-D1 and I believe it worked fine on my Apex player. I think jdobbs said at the time that the subpictures should not be resized according to DVD specs, instead the video should be resized and then the subpictures overlayed on top of the video. I assume the specs require the same process for regular subtitle subpictures.

Have you tried to play back the disc with a software player or a different hardware player?

I played the movie on my PC with PowerDVD and Media Player Classic.
In both cases the subtitles were doubled in horizontal size. It seems that the subtitles have to be resized to Half D1 too but i don't know how. Any suggestions? Otherwise i have to use fixed subtitles where necessary, but then i can use only one language. But nevertheless thanks for your answers. :thanks:

P.S.: Excuse my bad english but it is not my motherlanguage. Hope it was understandable what i mean.

You can try it with IfoEdit.
Open the ifo(s) which contain your HalfD1 movies, under Title Set (Movie) attributes doubleclick on video and change the resolution from 720x576 to 352x576 => Save.
For a some people it worked, for others it didn't, so give it a try. ;)

Thank you very much. It works perfect now. I thought that dvd-rb will change this setting when i select Half D1 resolution. But it doesn't matter, now i know how to solve this problem.
:thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

It should have... I'll take a look at it. Did you have any special settings on (movie-only for example)?
