Hello, I have just recently brought 2 budget dvd recorders (£100) and have had to send them both back because of hardware problems, the first one would not record audio and the second one would not accept blank dvds.
Im annoyed and figure I asked for it for buying the cheap stuff.
Anyway I have had a LG dvd player for about 4 years and it has never failed me once. The video shop I work at also has the exact same player for about 3 years which is on 12 hours a day 7 days a week and also have never had any problems.
I find this strange as I hear of people buying expensive sony players and having to get the lasers realigned after a year which leads me to the conclusion that while LG sell a lot of budget players/recorders they are a very good make and I think this is definetly the make im going to go for when I buy another recorder.
Anyway theres a couple of reviews here of the dvd-recorder I want to purchase:

One of the reviews is very good but the other one says that the recording quality isnt helped by lack of RGB input.
This confused me because I didnt think dvd's where encoded using RGB?
The main things i want to use it for is recording from old video tapes, sky and my DV camcorder (The player has firewire input, cool :) )
I just have a normal widecreen TV, not an LCD/Plasma.
Will this recorder be good for my needs and is the lack of RGB input bad or will it not affect me.
By the way im in PAL land.
