Hi,
I am using RB-PRO 1.0 RC6 with CCE 2.5, and trying to back up "Spartacus" special edition, region 4 (disc 1). First of all, yes, this is a "butchered" source, I used DVDShrink to remove the menus, extra audio and subtitles, with no compression on the movie. It is not a multi-angle title.
I have been getting the "buffer overflow" error during the rebuild phase. I have searched these forums for an answer, and tried the "special error processing" option with no luck. I tried repeating the whole process again with 3 CCE passes instead of 2 but got the error at the same point. It always occurred at around 3.8% of the rebuild process.
I then decided to try to compile the DVD in Maestro, using the new M2V files. They imported fine, but when I tried to import the audio (demuxed from the original DVD using DVDdecrypter), I got the error:
"cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupted. (0xc1070042)"
This occurred at around 7% of the audio file, which I suspect is the same point that RB was choking.
It seems that this error in the audio file was causing the buffer overflow in RB.
I have since fixed this by transcoding the AC3 file in BeSweet (AC3Fix did not fix it). I have compiled in Maestro and everything is great. I just thought it was interesting that this was causing RB to crash. Jdobbs, perhaps a workaround, or a check for this error could be incorporated into RB?
