How to clean Super8mm and 8mm tape?

I am finally converting my Super 8mm and 8mm and have been working with Virtual dub to help remove flicker and adjust color and so on. From the transfer process to my DV camcorder I have been able to adjust most of the flicker and adjust for the color but I need to do more clean up. Are there any filters for VD do to this? I have been looking but have not been unable to identify any filters that are just for this.

"deflicker" could help you.

one thing - don't do any level/contrast/etc correction before running this, as it will mess up black-points. give it as much data to work with as possible (i'm using it on 16mm anime transfers from the '60s at the moment, and it's working pretty well. now for the grain removal...)

Thanks I will try it this weekend hopefully. I also saw the VirtualDub MSU Old Film Restoration filter but there is no download link. where can I get that one to try it?

EDIT: looks like it's not out yet.
