Hey everyone. Im using DVD-RB PRO version with CCE 2.50 encoding a dvd-9 to back up to a DVDR and having a little trouble. Please help!
The original DVD = 7.74GB
It contains:
VTS 01 = 3,888MB
VTS 03 = 3,761MB
VTS 04 = 76MB
VTS 05 = 195MB
I took out all foreign audio and subtitles. I took out VTS 04 and VTS 05, which are the extras and then encoded. The result of the final image after rebuild was 5.46GB... too big :(
Maybe I have my settings messed up somewhere, or maybe there is a setting somewhere that can force it to be about 4.35GB???
Thanks.

what do you mean by took out? hopefully you mean blanked in segment editor
did you use opv mode ? (dont, its prediction is less than accurate occasionally)
the default settings already try to force it to 4.31 gb

I just realized something... you can choose to play either Widescreen OR Fullscreen... i think the VTS_03 is fullscreen and the VTS_01 is widescreen. Would this be why? How can I just get rid of all of VTS_03 using DVD-RB?
And yes, when I said "took out" I ment that I blanked them out in DVD-RB under the Preview/Edit tab.

Can I just blank out the entire VTS_03. And if it will work doing it that way, then what do I have to do to the menu to get rid of the button to choose the FS option, since full screen will be gone. Thanks!

@Troy25
If you are not interested in the Full Screen version (VTS_03?) you can just use DVD Shrink to blank it and the extras. As only the VTS_1 will remain, and it is just 3.9 MB, less than a DVD5 size, you can then backup it with "No compression", keeping so your 100% quality.
Regarding your original question, YES, very probably you have a messed setup in RB which causes it to encode in CBR mode instead of VBR mode.
Have you use RB to make a successful backup before? If not, reinstall RB using Rockas installer.
If you use it for the installation, please check you are selecting CCE 2.50, that in RB setup the path of the CCE 2.50 is pointing to EclCCE.exe file, that you have run EclCCe and made it point ot the CCE 2.5 executable.
