edit: oops maybe this should go in the AVI input thread...

I just cant apply the .credits xvid option when processing AVI sources. AGK just crashes after sound encoding. Ill post one logfile later but I ask because maybe it is just a normal thing and should be included in FAQ 5.?? (the one with the AVI sources limitations)

edit: here one logfile:

Division by zero. Uhm...

??? I just say that this problem disapears if I dont select the .credit option... hope you are not laughing at me :)

no, it's a bug in some internal autogk routine.

and now that AutoGK almost went stable you find this :)

oops sorry :) maybe you can just set it as an AVI source limitation, I think .credit for AVI sources is not that important (though it would be great if it was implemented...)

Maybe I can do some more testing on hidden options, I found that with .mono encodings going under 128kbps (meaning 64) lame sets audio to 32Khz, which sounds awful and much worse than an audio encoded at 56kbps mono in 44.1Khz, which is possible with lame I think.
Also, same happens with 2.0 encodings if you go below 96kbps: you get 32Khz which, again, is much worse than same bitrate (say 80kbps) with 44.1Khz. Its not my personal opinion, maybe at lowest bitrates going with 32Khz (or lower) makes sense, I dont know, but for sure keeping 44.1 or 48Khz is much much better with 80kbps (j-stereo) or 48/56kbps (mono)
Ah, and setting 96kbps (j-stereo) for 48Khz delivers a 44.1Khz output: I dont know if this could lead to sync issues or whatever, but I dont think 48 -> 44.1 conversion necessary. I just point it out.

Its not a limitation, its just a bug which could have been missed for the release. I'm not gonna leave it there :)

I'm no audio guru - if it does it then there is a reason, I just wouldn't recommend going below 96 anyway...

yes of course, I was just thinking that if it's hard to correct (bad english?) you may just change AGK to ignore .credits option with AVI sources, same as it does with standalone compatibility when you do quality 1-pass rips, which I guess is for some good reason :)

yes, I assume it is not a common case (common case=ripping DVDs or DV sources etc, not my very very old mono very very crappy VHS tapes...)
