I have been working on capturing analog video with a device from ADS (DVD Xpress) which renders an MPEG2 output. From there I can use a Ulead Movie Factory 3.0 (which came with DVD Xpress) and it does fine in turning it into a ISO or burning to DVD...as long as I don't need to edit much. Ulead is a very slow program and uses a lot of resources. So I have tried VirtualDub Mod and it was very fast and esay to use, but I end up with an 7.5GB AVI (I used XviD to compress.) I know Ulead can process AVIs, but it doesn't seem to like them this large and even if it did the result would still be an even larger MPEG file...(the movie is only 1:27 long.)
So what I need help with is a program that has the functionality of VDubMod but can give me an MPEG2 out put that I can turn into a DVD...any suggestions?

You can frame serve to any Magix NLE's and burn the DVD there or save as MPEG2.
See www.magix.com for more info but don't buy EP-10, instead buy MEP2004 at Amazon.com last years version for $26.95 or as low as $4.95 on e-bay.

TMPGEnc or TMPGENcPlus (Both different than TMPGEnc DVD Author) should be able to meet this requirement.
If your initial captured MPEG2 is DVD-compliant, you can use TMPGEnc DVD Author directly. You can obtain a FULLY functional free 30 day trial version of this commercial program at:

Thanks. I'll look into those and see what works.
