Anyone know How to rip mp3 from a divx5 avi?

You can extract the AVI's audio stream. If this stream is already MP3, you won't need to convert it -> no quality lose at all :-) If the stream is not MP3 and you want it to be MP3, you can convert it after extraction.

VirtualDub (Save Wave) or better VirtualDubMod (Demux) should do the job.
You can also extract the audio stream from the AVI with that tool called "YAMB".
For converting the audio I would prefer BeSweet/BeLight.

do i have to download also the codec used in the divx5 avi?
I only want the mp3 stream.

Are you sure? I have download AVIMux GUI and try to load avi file, but it reject to load, is AVIMux GUI really good program?

Yes I'm sure, AVIMux GUI doesnt require any codec to open a file as it doesnt do decoding. What error message do you get from AMG? Is your file actually an avi, not OGM or something?

You could also just use VirtualDubMod, go to streams --> streams list, select your stream and press demux.

I play it well with divx player.

That file opens fine in AVIMux GUI 1.17.3, so I don't see what the problem is.
