I've just spent the last three days making subtitles with the help of Subtitle Workshop - I completed one part and was doing the second part tonight and when I found the timings didn't match - times that were already done were listed for newer ones, I found out that everytime I 'rewind' or 'fast foward' the video, Subtitle Workshop completly messes about with the times.

Natually, I am not very impressed with this and was wondering if anyone knew of any better subtitle creation software. I'm using DVD-Lab Pro to put the DVD together and Nero for the burning.

Thanks in advance

My latest version 1.9.1 of SubtitleCreator has a tool that allows you to create subtitles from scratch. As I never tried it myself (I just programmed some features that should help), I am not sure how well it works, but the principle is as follows:

Play the DVD
Press A-B repeat when someone starts speaking, and press it again when they stop - a new subtitle is created, using the press time to set the start and end times (as you are probably too late when pressing, you can specify a delay in the Settings.xml file).
Type in the text - in the meantime, the DVD keeps replaying the period that you've selected (this is not perfect due to buffering problems of the DVD, but you get the picture)
Finally, after pressing the AB repeat button again, it continues playing until you are ready for the next subtitle... you get the picture.

The time stamp information is taken from the DVD, and should be accurate. If you wish to give it a try and have some problems with it, send me a PM, and I can see if it's solvable...
