I have posted regarding use of my new Hauppauge PVR USB 2.0 and the use of Ulead Movie Factory 3 and my successful backups of 45-60 minute vhs tapes that I converted from analog to digital. The unit is great and my 162I (16X) DL with its book management exe. for DVD ROM as well.
I really want to do a 180 minute conversion via my movie factory 3 to my HD and then burn onto Verbatim DL and I was wondering if either of these programs can do it as Movie Factory 3 can't I need to purchase the upgrade to Movie Factory 4 Standard.
So I thought I would seperate this post from my Hauppauge post and get experienced opinions.
I want to do a simple clone of the concert VHS, not titles etc and want to use a simple method W/O having to try my inexperienced hand at any settings with more complicated proggys, as I am a Noob at all of this.
I look forward to comments, thankyou

CloneDVD is meant to be used with authored content, meaning you'll need to prepare the captured file to burn to a DVD with all the structures and menus ready, even if it's the size of a dual layer. I believe there are a number of programs available here for free that can do this. Regarding difficulty of use, I don't know, I've never tried any. I've used Roxio's DVD Builder which is very simple.

I noticed earlier, you rarely go back to a previous post to mention whether or not a solution was found or if the advice was helpful.

Thx for the reply. No i have not found a solution to burning DL's. I now have a number of Verbatim's that a buddy traded with me as he is into wholesaling and one of his products is Verbatim DL's and I had something that he was wanting.
What I want to do is the usual process that Movie Factory 3 SE that is my OEM that came with Hauppauge cannot do and that is a DL.
I have used Movie Factory in my conversion from analog to digital for the regular 4.7 dvd capture to MPEG for my short 60 minute vhs tapes.
Now what I want to do is a 180 minute VHS to a DL as I have several 180 minute tapes.
I wanted to use my Movie Factory 3 SE to do:
DVD Capture>record>video captured DVD MPEG file that is on my HD in "My Video Files" and then author it to a DVD DL and so I was wondering if Nero Express Vision 3.0.1.18 could do this on DL???
I now know that Clone DVD cannot and so I was looking for an experienced opinion on Nero Vision Express.
I hope that this makes it a little clearer.
Being a Noob, I looked at my other post and thought that I may not be making myself clear enough.
I want a user friendly proggy and I have Nero Vision, however have not installed it yet as I was happy with Movie Factory 3 OEM but since it can't do DL's I was wondering if the existing Nero that I had could do the job without having to purchase the updated Movie Factory 4 Standard which is all I would need to do, and Ulead Movie Factory I find to be a user friendly proggy for a Noob.
I look forward to comments, thankyou

My first comment would be that your original question was understood. It was not necessary to restate it three more times in your next post. :)

Next, if you want to use Movie Factory and your current version won't do what you want it to, your only option will be to upgrade to Movie Factory 4.

Last, what you are doing (creating video files from capture and making DVD videos) is known as "authoring." As I said, you will need a software for authoring DVD files to be made ready for burning, and there are many, some available for free. If you don't want to buy one, you can try or read about the ones listed in other parts of this forum, for example DVD Rebuilder.

Read the reply and I do understand about authoring, thankyou for your comments anyway.
Movie Factory 3 SE, that I use does not need an authoring proggy, so I will simply use the 30 day trial version of the Movie Factory 4 and then purchase it.

I just got through doing a conversion to a 4.7 Media via Movie Factory 3 with great success again.

BTW, the reason i listed out again issues is B/C in other forums that I participate in i have been advised that members don't like to have to go back to an earlier post and wonder where your current post fits.
Thus I posted those details.
I am also advising here what I intend to do to resolve my situation as it was indicated that I rarely advise of the end result of my post.

Thx and Cheers!!

Movie Factory is an authoring program.

That's fine, I only mentioned it because it came across that you thought I didn't understand your original problem, which I did. You will find here that people are expected to read the entire thread before posting.

Why not? It makes people think you don't even read their suggestions.
