I have to ask what use is this software? I couldn't get decrypted DVD-9 files to even be rebuilt into DVD-5 files from HD. Yet I could load up Nero and recode DVD Video files and I was back in business. So what purpose does this software have? It requires a bunch of other software to be installed and I couldn't even get it to like the 2.70.x CCP that I had installed.

DVD Rebuilder is the *only* one-click software that will backup a full dvd by re-encoding.
That's it's use/purpose.

Please: :readguid:
There are so many users who use it with CCE 2.70, so probably it's a problem with your settings.

use the installer. If you already have cce 2.7 on your system, all you have to do is link to it in setup. No further setup required.
As for its purpose, it has basically the same as recode, but the quality is amazing, instead of crappy (personal opinion)

If the goal of your post was to try and come off as a jerk, you've done a pretty good job. If you like your old method -- stick with it. Pixelation and motion errors could be considered "art" in some circles.
You should use the DVD-RB installer and the setup takes care of itself. As you may be able to tell from the numerous posts all through this forum -- it works very well for a everyone else -- so what is the point of posting this kind of rubbish?
This is a bad way to start out your DOOM9 membership... seeing as this is only your third post.

molitar, your post seems more like flamebait than an honest question.
If you really want to know why people prefer this software there are several threads comparing it to DVD Shrink, Big3 and other popular backup methods. Perhaps you will find your answer there and/or can contribute to that discussion.
If you want assistance to get it working then I suggest you use the search feature, and if you still can't find a solution start a new thread detailing the error(s) you encounter instead of vague statements like "It didn't work" and "It doesn't like my CCE".
