I use surcode dvd dts encoder and I noticed this. I encoded six mono wave files to dts, one to bitrate 768 and one to bitrate 1536. Both play fine in powerdvd, the bitrates info show correct but the file size is almost the same.
What is wrong here? Shouldn't the 1536 bitrate file to be bigger?
Thatnks in advance

Maybe you can't oversaturate DTS with bitrate after a certain point?

Using 768 or 1536 kbps in surcode doesn't influence the size of the output file. When muxing the file in an dvd authoring program it will get to the right file size. After dvd creation, demux it, you'll see!

Yes you are right, thank you. I tried it and although the one minute dts file has the same size both at 768 and 1536 kb/s when made to dvd, the video_ts folder size is diferrent.
By the way I checked that when you choose the output file in surcode to be dts file compact (.cpt) the file size shows corecctly according to the bitrate.

Hi

You can get the correct final size of the DTS file when muxed
if you use a good bitrate calc ;)
