Hi I have this Pinnacle pctv pro card and I'm using Pinnacle's own wdm drivers. I've tried the drivers from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ as well but they don't solve my problems also. I'm using virtualdub1.6.10.

Firstly there is no way for me to save my settings after I set them. The preferences option is greyed out.

Then the next problem i have is that there is no horizontal reduction. Ticker tape stuff across CNN turns out blury.

Is there anyway I can solve this problem? Because I want to tape stuff directly thru the VVCR scheduler.

Thanks for helping me I am quite ready to dump this card since I had it in 31st dec 2002. Seeing that there are better stereo cards with hardware encoding avaliable out there.

Version 1.6.10 has autosave of settings. Some specific settings you can save in menu point Device.

Horizontal reduction? I din't see it in any V Dub. Do you mean vertical reduction?

I have same card, and V Dub 1.6x captures very well with original Pinnacle drivers. But only in directshow mode. WDM mode still has limitations - vert. res is max. 288 lines.
So, use directshow mode & :readguid: (help of V Dub).

hi er what is this directshow mode? I only followed the guide on doom9 so I thought it had horizontal reduction mode also.

do you think you can point me to the correct guide? The guide I was following was this one

http://www.doom9.org/capture/capturing_vdub.html

There is no specific guide for new V Dub 1.6.10. Therefore read help of V Dub, as I said in brackets.

2:1 horizontal reduction is only in VirtualDub-MPEG2 (http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/stable).
