when ripping a dvd in ifo mode, i can find a log in the directory where dvdd saved the dvd, sometimes i can see in the log that the audio has a small delay, since the new updates to AutoGk no longer require an ifo file, should i use dvdshrink or similar to rip the dvds and by that avoiding the audio delay ?

what i want to know is that if i should ditch DVDD and use dvdshrink because of the audio delay?

what you said/asked doesn't make much sense :)
Audio delay was never taken neither from ifo file nor from stream info file of DVDD...
You can use use whatever tool you want as long as it strips out unused PGCs/Angles from a vobset...

lets say i rip the dvd in ifo mode to directory b on my pc.
after ripping the dvd i get a text file on directory b saying that the audio has a delay of xxxx ms.
does that mean the audio ripped is not in sync with the video dvddecrypter created in ifo mode?
i get a text file on the output directory everytime i use dvddecrypter saying if the video/audio/subs are in sync.
is my dvd decrypter faulty?
i have the last version lightninguk released.

The delay included in the .ifo will be used in some cases to maintain alignment of the audio, for example I use the full Gordian Knot; if I remove the referenced delay the audio will be off in the final product. I have yet to have an audio alignment problem using DVD Decrypter.

i tried GordianKnot and theres an option to input the audio delay, but Autogk doesnt have that option.
but what i wanted to know based on users experience is if i can ditch dvddecrypter and use shrink or another one, since the autogk updates no longer require the ifo createed by dvdd? i rememmber len0x sayng that(i think) since the new dgindex no longer requires it?
thanks

consider this: autogk never needed dvdd to synch audio, then you question "if I can ditch it" makes no sense because AutoGK never needed it.
