Hi,

New beta, make VB more robust (I hope) with wrong IFOs:

VobBlanker_2100b5 (http://www.vcdhelp.com/~jsoto/temp/VobBlanker_2100b5_exe.zip)

Changelog versus beta 4:

Added: Detection of ini/end cell pointers out of range.
Added: VOB files FullScan: used to get the right cell ini/end pointers
Added:Check if any offset is out of IFO range (C_ADT, M_C_ADT, C_ADMAP...). If yes, issue a warning and change it to zero.

:thanks: josto....
However, I've got a question
For 2.010 if I wanna extract last 5 out of 10 cells into one VOB file I can highlight them and right-click --> Extract cell. But for 2.010b5, I can no longer choose Extract cell anymore. Hope you could fix it so that I can extract several cells (not all cells) into one file, thanks...

Hi, if I use "Use Input Folder" option, Vobblanker create a backup folder, but if mine hard disk it is filled up during "process" ,an irrecovarable error appear and VOBBlanker go in crash.
With this error I lose my dvd, I can't restore it.

It's all correct?

Thanks :)

I believe your DVD is still intact.
VobBlanker uses the backup folder as destination folder during process. That is, it reads the input folder and writes in the backup one.
Once the process is finished, in one or two seconds, VobBlanker moves the files between the two folders, the original and the backup one, so the final situation is the backedup files in VobBlanker_backup and the new ones in the input folder.
If VB crashes (or aborts) during the processing, probably your input folder is intact. Just see at the end of the log (if aborts) if you find the "Moving files" part

Moving Files start

Moving File: VTS_01_0.BUP

-would it be possible to have the split-cell ability to split same cell multiple times in one pass (break one cell into defined number of cells)
e.g. some dvds have photo/image gallery extras which play like slideshow (video stream) instead of stills with navigation buttons
what i currently do is i run vobblanker multiple times with each pass doing splitting on that cell
1st pass split single cell into cell1 and cell2
2nd pass split cell2 into cell2 and cell3
3rd pass split cell3 into cell3 and cell4
and so on until i have same amount of cells as images in gallery
finally i use the motion2still on each cell (perhaps could be done in same pass as cell splitting?)
and then i add navigation buttons in pgcedit

-some kind of splits preview list (to see where precisely split ends and next starts) would be helpful (including image preview)
with a row for each target cell (with ability to finetune the split points and perhaps also do motion2still on desired target cells)

maybe could be useful for stilling motion credits while retaining audio and playtime of original credits and saving considerable amount of space

Hi guys, I have a little problem. I have a client who needs to make changes to a DVD project we produced for him several months ago. The problem is we no longer have the project files, only the completed Video_ts folder!

He only needs to make two changes. One to a peice of video that needs a graphic changing and one to a menu that needs one peice of text changing on it. We only have a short time frame to get this completed and the client is unable to get more money for the project. Therefore it is not possible for us to build the project again from scratch.

My question is do you think Voblanker is the best solution for this task? I am sadly running out of time and need a quick solution. I have spent quite a few hours scanning posts but as with most technical things there is a learning curve that is now getting the better of my diminished timespan.

So in summary I need to make two tiny changes. One to a peice of video and the other to a still menu background. Do you think I could accomplish that easily with voblanker?

Many thanks in advance.

@Grave
I knew someone will ask for a multisplit in the same cell in one run....
Well, not really difficult, only a matter of GUI (BTW, lately IŽm really tired fighting with the GUI...). But I do not see it is really useful..., so I'm not going to put it in the TODO...

BTW, I can give you some tips to your problem:

Method 1 (obvious, sure you know it)
1st: Split cell in to parts Cell 1 and cell2
2nd : split both cells, so you'll get four cells
3rd: split the four cells, you 'll get 8
...
In five runs youŽll get 32 cells.
slideshows are usually short, so working in input folder and skipping all the rest of VTSs will not teak much time. If the main movie is in the same VTS, blank it in the first run, using a different output folder and w/o changing post into precommands, and replace it again in the last one

Method 2: (only applicable to stills w/o audio.)
a) Select the desired stills and save as bmps (as many as you want)
b) Run AddChapter, which is able to add a buch of chapters in one second. Use blank cells for the new chapters
c) Run VobBlanker and replace each blank cell with an external still (the bmp saved in a)
d) You're done.

Sorry, this wasn't intended as a duplicate posting. When I asked the question in the DVD authoring forum someone directed me towards Voblanker. I checked through this post and others similar and also the Voblanker site but was still a little confused, hence re-posting the question in the correct forum. I would not usually ask for help without spending a decent amount of time experimenting with a piece of software, but being as this is a work related problem, I do not have the luxury of time and now have a slightly stressed out client phoning me every 5 minutes to check the progress. If I am to understand it correctly this should be a very simple process as I have the assets ready to drop into place. If someone could just take 5 minutes to explain it to me, I would be eternaly grateful. Sorry again for being a pest.

One to a peice of video that needs a graphic changing
Which kind of change?

and one to a menu that needs one peice of text changing on it. If it is a still, VobBlanker is your tool. You need to know where is the still, and select the cell (in titles or menu domain) and, after, click on "still". a preview pane will open. Save the still to a bmp, modify the bmp with any graphic editor and drag&drop the modified bmp on the preview pane.

Note you need MuxMan as external tool, but it is enough to configure the path to MuxMan in Tools menu.

Ahh, I see. I can drag and drop a .bmp once muxman is linked. The video has already been changed by one of our editors and is currently a .m2v. Can I change it over by dragging and dropping in the same fashion?

jsoto

No, you need to mux the video with the audio/subs

Demux the pgc with pgcdemux to get audio/vidio/subs.
Change the video with the new one.
Mux all together with Muxman
Use "Replace PGC" in VobBlanker. there is a guide to do it..

But, what is the change you are doing in the video? If it is a simple cut, VobBlanker will be able to do it for you w/o demuxing.

Ahh, sadly no. It is a content change. The client gave us a name to use for someone in the film and he had spelt it incorrectly. That name appears once on a menu and then once in the film. Hence the small changes. :)

Well, if you have the new video, and it is synchronized with the old audio, seems very easy....

Good luck.

If you only want to change the background, may be you can try the new VobBlanker's feature.
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...389#post747389
It's still in beta stage, mainly because I'm still adding more features in the same release.
Simply configure MuxMan as external tool and drang & drop the bmp on the selected cell.
jsoto

I have latest Vobblanker. Is there any guide how to change background picture in menu.
Beacuse I can't - don't know how to - change the background:confused:
I select muxman as external tool and define TEMP folder.
Whenever I drag my background into preview I got an error (Input ...)

OK. MuxMan and Temp folder configured, so:

- Select the VTS in VTS list of VobBlanker main dialog.
- Click on Menu button (first at the right). A new pane (Menu dialog) is opened
- Select the LU (many DVDs have only one LU) in the upper part of Menu dialog
- Select the menu PGC in the PGC bottom part of the dialog
- Click on cells button. A new dialog (Cell list) is opened
- Select the Cell.
- Click on Still button. A preview pane is opened
- Save the current background using BMP button
- Modify the background with a graphic editor
- Drag and drop (drop in the preview pane) the modified bmp. When droped, MuxMan is automatically called and the resulting VOB is opened in the preview pane, so you 'll see the new background.
- Click on keep audio if you want to keep/remove the audio
- Click OK to close Preview pane
- Click Apply to close Cells dialog
- Click OK to close Menu dialog
- Save project if you want.
- Repeat again all the steps if you want to modify any additional cell
- Save project if you want.
- Hit Process!
- Wait.....

:D :D Applause.. :D :D
