Hi there,

I have just started to use Gknot and it looks really good, but is there a utility that i can use to preview the PGC's and the different Video files / audio files i.e. VTS_01, VTS_02 etc

Because when i open an IFO file in Gknot it asks me which PGC but i don't know because I am unsure which is which....

So i was thinking if there was a utility to preview these sort of things then i can make the correct choice in GKNOT for Video, PGC, and audio etc

Thanks alot

Ian

Easiest way is to use Media Player Classic. It will play each VTS, if you have the IFO mode thing turned on. Just open the IFO of whichever VTS you want to see.

Actaully I just found ifoedit which seems to do the trick although having problems preview items within it....

I suppose this is the right tool, i will ask about the preview issue in the other forum for ifoedit...

Unless anybody has an alternative idea?

Thanks again

Some of what you've said doesn't make sense. Gordian Knot opens .d2v, .avi or .avs files, not IFO files. If you're referring to DGIndex, at that point you'd be opening .vob files (or PGC's), and if you'd set DVD Decrypter's file splitting to None you'd have only one file - otherwise, just open the files in numerical order. Assuming you used DVD Decrypter in IFO mode and selected "Main movie files" only to be ripped, you would have only one set of .vob's.

Media Player Classic is not the same as Windows Media Player. I believe there's a link to it on the main page.

...Gordian Knot opens .d2v, .avi or .avs files, not IFO files...It is my guess that iangreg is using AutoGK rather than GK.

@iangreg

Hi!

If you're simply trying to determine which is the "movie-only" program Chain, one way would be to open the ripped DVD (from your hard drive) with "SmartRipper", click on the "Movie" radiobutton and make note of the highlighted Program Chain...

It is my guess that iangreg is using AutoGK rather than GK.

It might've been my guess too, had he not said "GKnot" three times in his post, but you're likely right. I should probably reinstall AutoGK and learn it properly so I can distinguish them from the symptoms more readily.
