How to convert 119.88 fps to 29.97 fps

sorry this may sound stupid
but i am having trouble converting 119.88 fps show to 29.97
i used the code
ConvertFPS(29.97)
but im getting errors
and i also am having errors with decimate
could you plz tell me the correct way to do this
also i am trying to do apply range so i can use filters on certain frames in video im working on so if you could plz tell me how to correctly do these 2 things

Please post the scripts that are giving you the errors, and tell us exactly what the error messages were. Then we can tell you what you are doing wrong.

the convert fps said i was giving the wrong numbers and to try zone
btw the fps of the video file im working on is 119.88
apply range said i was retarded and to kill myself XD
cause i have no clue what to do for applyrange
and i want the filters to work on certain frames

Those were the exact error messages? :)

For the frame rate reduction, try this...

If it is progressive video:

FDecimate(29.97) # get this from my web site

If it is interlaced (use TFF or BFF as needed):

AssumeTFF()
SeparateFields()
SelectEvery(4,0)
Weave()

Let's get the fps reduction right first and then move on to ApplyRange. Just try these first without the other filtering.

Is it progressive video? If so, try FDecimate(29.97). Get FDecimate() from my web site. Let's get the fps right first and then do the rest, so leave the other stuff off for now.

If it's just one or two ranges, then there is an easier way with trim and splice. How many ranges do you need?

i was just gonna do a couple
to test it out and stuff
i might do a lot of apply ranges in the future though
