Panasonic s295 subtitles???

How to get subtitles work on Panasonic s295 DVD player with divx?
I can see divx and xvid movies but don’t recognize any kind of subtitles. Tried .srt .sub .txt but nothing.
Is there any other solution?

I must admit I don't know anything about your Panasonic player. Do you know what chip-set (make model number) is in it?
