How do I reverse video to create the 'water running uphill' effect? Tnx for advice.

Reverse() (http://www.avisynth.org/Reverse)

Of course that means use the Reverse() filter in an Avisynth script.

If you're unfamiliar with avisynth scripts you can reverse a clip in any decent NLE program (but how exactly you do it depends on the program)

Normally you can do this in your NLE program by setting the speed of the clip to -100%.

also, if the video is interlaced one needs to take that into account, because the fields in each frame will still be running forwards, though the frames run backwards...
an NLE program should be able to handle it (but if you're using premiere it'll probably mess it up somehow)

Thank you for the replies everyone, I don't know scripting but what NLE apps might I be able to try? Mug Funky, it looks like you dislike Premiere (Is that Adobe Premiere?) so what's a good alternative? Advice is appreciated a lot since I'm brand new at all this.

Premiere Pro ain't that bad (and afaik it doesn't mess up the fields in reverse).
Other good progs would be Avid XPress and Pinnacle Liquid Ed. - both have their fanbase.
If you have a Mac then you should get Final Cut Pro, it is in my opinion the best of them all (still I'm using Premiere Pro at home because I don't buy a Mac because of one good program)

premiere doesn't mess up fields in reverse. I've reversed a clip successfully in premiere. And yes, that's Adobe Premiere. It's kind of expensive though. My recommendation is that you use Reverse() in AVISynth
