I am using scenarist.3.0 and the new big 3. I am fallowing the guide on doom9 for backing up dvd9-dvd5. Everything seems to be going well untill NM4U is about to complete, thats when i get the complile error. The error reads:

COMPILE ERROR
scenarist has failed due to a script error; further actions have been canceled.

Then all i can do is hit ok, and NM4U reads:

Compile not succesful-import manually and run .bat file later.

Something went wrong aborting.

After this NM4U closes and DIF4U proceeds to finish. The scenarist script error i get reads:

The placeholder error usually means that the corresponding asset is not there. Check your directory that contains the encoded files if they are there. If not thay might not be encoded for some reason.

the only other thing it could be is that you might be using an out-dated version of numenu - currently it is "NuMenu4u 2.0.23". i vaguely remember this happening a few versions ago.

how can i fix this place holder problem? I tried importing the assets into scenarist but no luck i keep getting this error:

error the track "VTS_01_PGC_01' has place holder.
error PreCheck from DB Failed.
error DVD Video files could not be created.

Catpiss,

you have to do a bit of research and provide a bit more detail about your program version numbers and also if you have followed influenzas advice.

if you are using the guide you can see what a placeholder file looks like.
simply select it in the "data editor" and check to see where the path points to for this file. then open explorer and check to see if it is in fact where the script says it is.
