Hi all
I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers as on whats the best settings to convert a single avi 350MB (an episode) to a DVD (trying to get the max quality possible),i tried playing with the Q Factor and Image Quality Priority and it still doesn't look as good as it should.

Im using one pass VBR,which IMHO is enough for a single episode that short (of course if you think that a multipass VBR is preferable i would like to hear).

Im using CCE.

Thanks :)

Garbage in = garbage out, not much you can do about that.

One thing you can try is to use the CCE antinoise filter, which blurs the material.

Garbage maybe, but no matter what i do,the end result is lower quality than the avi movie itself.

avi->MPEG2 is never going to be lossless, a re-encode=quality loss. Of course I don't know how bad the degredation is in your case.

If you are placing a ~45 min avi on a DVD then CBR should be fine if you don't care about size.
