I used Auto Gordian Knot a while ago and have now loaded version 2.17b after trying 2.16b and getting the same error. This error is that no matter what type of input I try I always get "Audio Stream 0" prefixing MPEG or AC3 in audio track selection (no other options).
Can anyone help? What other information can I supply.

Hi!
Was the original source material an "ARccOS" copy protected DVD?

OK, still need help. FAQ Q 0 is about downloading. Could you please help me with which part of the FAQ relates (I'm really not understanding a lot of the terminality).
The file is a home video tape converted to mpeg2.
Thanks

Sorry, I meant Q 1. (If you have DVD-like source and want to see "English"-like description of languages).

Ok, I get the idea if the sourse is a DVD or DVD image. But what if I only have a "filename.mpeg" and want to convert to an AVI. Is there an IFO file I can point at?
Thanks

mpeg files do not have any audio/sub information in them, so I don't understand what the problems is...

No...

The problem is that when I point at "c:\filename.mpeg" as the input file to create an avi I get "Audio Stream 0" prefixing MPEG or AC3 in audio track selection (no other options). If I do try and convert the file the reulting file has no sound.
Can I use AutoGorianKnot to convert mepg files into AVI?

It doesn't appear that AutoGK supports your file. Can you run GSpot on it and post the data it extrapolates?

What do you expect? Most of mpeg files have just one audio track which has either MPEG or AC3 sound...
If I do try and convert the file the reulting file has no sound.

OK - I'll be a video file techno gumby. I just don't get it. If I have an mpeg file, with audio, and it is in vob setup can I use AutoGordianKnot to convert it to an AVI file. If so how or a least what am I doing incorrect? Or what information can I provide?
What do I expect? That if a mpeg file has audio and video, that that audio and video be in the avi that is created from that mpeg file.
Thanks

If I have an mpeg file, with audio, and it is in vob setup.
Your choice of words continues to be (at least to me) confusing. Did you simply convert to MPEG2, or did you SPECIFICALLY convert to DVD-compliant format and structure?
Although the reverse can be true, merely changing the extension from ".MPG" to ".VOB" does NOT make the file a legitimate .VOB (which is an EXTENDED form of MPEG2).
Similarly to an earlier suggestion made by "CWR03", I'd suggest you do the following (so that more file specific information can be obtained with certainty):
1) Load the original video file into VirtualDubMOD (Different than standard VirtualDub)
2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"
3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

It's entirely possible that your file does not contain an audio type that AutoGK can use. Just because it has sound doesn't mean anything and everything can process it.
What do we expect in order to answer your questions? Post the data that is requested of you. You asked what you may be doing incorrect - obviously it's in the way you created your initial file, but no one can tell you what's wrong without the information for which you were asked.

@oddball508 - which part of "post your log file" you didn't understand? The ONLY piece of info you should have provided in your first post is description of problem like "I can't hear any audio in the output file" (which is by the way is not an indication that its not there) and log file from that encoding. I won't help you without it.
