MaestroSBT going open source - developers wanted
Hi. After years of having no time at all to dedicate to MaestroSBT, I decided to make it open source. I know, I should have done that before, but anyway. I'm looking for developers/testers/documenters/technical support to join the project with some (or most) of the following:
- Some time to dedicate to the project. - C++ skills (Visual C++ 6.0, MFC, nothing too fancy). - Attention to details: algorithms are quite complex and might be broken easily. - Decent knowledge of DVD technologies and will to learn some more. - Commitment to serve a community of users who are not always grateful .- Willing to respect existing export formats, and introduce some more. If you are not a developer, you can be tester, documenter or technical support. Your work will be always welcomed. In this case, attention to details and good communication skills are good assets. If you think you're up to the task, PM me some lines telling me what you know, what you think you could do in the team and what amount of time do you think you're willing to give to the project (and for how long). Guille

I think I'll test it anyway when the new version is out
![]() I hope it'll get Unicode-based, supporting also 'new' formats like ASS, USF, TTXT. When I tested Version 2.4.3.5 long time ago, it was not an Unicode app, and had some problems with Double-Byte characters in Japanese and in Chinese--maybe in Korean too. Among other things, it was confused if the 2nd byte of the double byte character is 0x7b, which would be the special character in SSA { if it was not the 2nd half of a double-byte character. |

Great!
MaestroSBT does have a Unicode version, now. It is only lightly tested, and has some interoperatibility issues (when passing between ANSI and Unicode and back). Check here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=147340 Also, some MBCS issues were corrected on the road. You might want to try the ANSI version too if the Unicode version gives you problems.

Hi.
First I must say that this is a hell of tool I use to make svcd subtitles with it about 1,5 year ago. Now I'm searching for decent DVD subtitle tool. While SubtitleCreator is my favorite, it's builded uppon .NET framework. It would be no problem, but I'm on my way to drop MSwindows out of my life Now I'm pretty happy with my DesktopBSD, but there is no good DVD subtitle tool for *nixes. But of course there is WINE Of course .NET ain't working under wine, MONO does but I have no idea how to use it as substitute of .NET, so I can't use ST.Lately I refreshed my mind, and searched for maestro. It's pretty good tool, as I mentioned, but I always had have some problems with it. So let me start. This will be constructive critisism ![]() 1. Is it possible to write some default settings to file (to file cause of reinstallation, and of course my wine ). Best will be to have few couple settings and can restore them with one or to clicks (I saw this in your ToDo list, so I think it's right one)2. Ability to open other formats, SRT, {Micro}{DVD}, hh:mm:ss (I think thouse 3 will do, they most popular) 3. If it's possible add sup output format. All sst related bitmaps (tiffs, maps bitcompressed or not) are very space consuming (50MB for whole move is smalles you can get), while sup grows no more than 5-10MB. 4. I have serious issue with central european fonts no mater if ssa file is in ISO, Windows, or UTF, I can't get them to be displayed properly ![]() I know that I'm probably annoyng, but I wanted to bring something good to this project while I think that it's one of best subtitle tools. Hope I can help in the future. PS: Maybe there is a way to fully implement it to *nixes. It would be revolution to DVD subtitling

I have avoided to finalize a similar program using DirectShow ->AVS Script ->grabbing BMP THANKS Only a request: for SSA file is possible using tags (if present) PlayResX and PlayResY to resize rendering of text to avoid recalculate and change all text styles size and position tags "move" "pos" of each sub. collision work very good ![]() for the future render "\fade" or "\karaoke" tags using Color and Contrast SST command should BE great A dvd-video with karaoke it's a dream

Hi to all. Thanks for the compliments!
Sadly I must clarify that this thread is not appropriate for feature requests. People should add their wish list to the MaestroSBT SourceForge site. All in all, there is one tiny little problem: there are no programmers currently working on this tool, so there are no modifications planned. Guille

rendering->Screen and bitmap size frame->minus2 are default.
If I disable (with NTSC DVD in output resolution) the chioce is not saved on ssa file (is a little bug). When I reopen ssa file always enabled minus2 option. Where I can find the source code? |

Sure; just follow the links!
That's why it is called "open source".

ah~ i also wish if anyone can continue contribute to the project.
i find that maestrosbt doesnt read the pos tag inside ssa, which will cause a reverse order of multi lines of translation in a picture. this issue Original picture.... for project ![]() vobsub preview window which is correct pos ![]() maestro output or preview window which is messup ![]() and only works if manual editing the ssa or maestrosbt [gui-edit] to define position i find that the difference is only timing(becuz overlap) & extra line ontop of the need-to-pos-line Comment: Marked=0,0:12:07.71,0:12:08.21,*Default,,0000,0000,0000,,MSBTUSER: POSX=90;SNAPX=1;POSY=76;SNAPY=1 Dialogue: Marked=0,0:12:07.71,0:12:10.03,KagamiTsukasa,,0000,0000,0000,,{\c&H80FFFF&\bord0\fs20\pos(90,76)}Mini hamburg ~please anyone?
