samsung firmware update

hi everyone.

i recently bought a samsung ht ds490 dvd/divx player.

divx/dvd playback is fine, but doesnt recognize multiple audio tracks with divx, ive been looking on firmware sites(mtz, new age etc) for a firmware update that will enable it to play multiple audio tracks in divx.

does anyone know anything?

i didnt find samsung firware updates anywhere.

thanks

As far as I'm aware no stand-alone player manufacturer has released a full firmware upgrade to support the DivX Media Format (.divx).

I would like to think somebody over at DivX will have a list of upcoming player manufacturers who are most likely to release firmwares!

Cheers

THAnks SeeMoreDigital.

players like philips 642 and yamada 6700 recognize multiple audio with divx 5.2, i was wondering if anyone knows a site where i can download a patch/firmaware to enable my samsung to read multiple audio tracks.

i wasnt looking for an update/firmware to divx6.

thanks for the info

It sounds as though you are using DivX's new "DivX Converter" tool. Which places video, audio, subtitle etc streams within DivX's new .divx container?

If so, I must admit I was not aware it does not allow you to select between audio streams in non upgraded players!

this is what i tried so far.
with divx5.: using avi mux
srt2bmp
virtualdubmod

all of them created/added extra tracks detected on pc but not on standalone divx player

with divx6:
with divx converter it played fine on pc but wasnt detected on standalone player

its funny because my standalone detects multiple xsubs either created with divx converter or srt2bmp so why it doesnt dectect multiple audio

SeeMoreDigital, fyi the Pioneer 470/575, Targa DP-5100x, LG 8900P and prob most other LG models that do divx....all support divx 6, .divx container, multiple sound track and subs. So no firmware updates to do the .divx as they do divx 6 fine as is

Actually, I generated a 50 second test encode with "DivX Converter" a couple of days ago containing 3No audio and 3No subtitle tracks.

Unfortunately, when I span the .divx file in my DivX Certified Pioneer DV-575A player I could not switch between audio streams or manage to display any subtitles!

When I pressed the "DISPLAY" button on my remote control, the audio and subtitle track information was detected and detailed on my TV screen... but could not be accessed

Cheers

Weird. I got the 2 sample files from from divx.com burnt and had no problems on the Pioneer. I run stock 2.09 firmware none of the mod versions that litter the internet.
