HARDWARE playback of Nero Digital MP4 files

I have a *load* of films encoded in Nero Digital MP4 format and recently bought a DVD playback "tablet" that is supposed to playback MP4 files from DVD discs.

However, it won't playback my Nero Digital MP4 files.

How would I go about transcoding them to simple MP4 format so that they *will* playback on my DVD tablet ? Can I do this using Nero Recode 2 (I looked but can't see any other profiles available).

Thanks in advance for any help...

Nigel

You encoded your files in NeroDigital AVC that is not supported (yet) by SAPs.
You need to encode them in NeroDigital ASP.
Obviously AVC has much better quality...

>>You need to encode them in NeroDigital ASP

How would I do this (real newbie here)?

There are a load of Nero Digital profiles (the default one is Nero Standard), but they all seem to have AAC audio soundtracks.

You have to use the standard profile, that it uses ASP (without features like GMC, Custom Matrix and QPel unchecked by default) and AAC-LC.
, this is the logo of the profile.

OK, well looks like I was already encoding in Nero Digital Std ASP mode then!

My player just doesn't seem to like the AAC soundtracks.

(After doing further reading, it seems my portable player is based on the ESS Vibrato I chip.)

Can I do this with Nero Recode? As far as I can see it isn't possible to recode choosing to convert the AAC soundtrack to MP3.

Do I need other tools to do this?

Thanks
Nigel

i am sure your file didnt use avc, but asp

Agreed!!!

The H&B DX3220 player is fitted with an MediaTek MT1389xx chip-set. As far as I'm aware no player based around this chip-set even supports the .MP4 container.

Cheers

nero recently teamed up with mediatek to bring .mp4 to their chips, maybe its a first player offering this new feature?

Although .MP4 container support is strongly rumoured to be coming to MediaTek chip-sets, I very much doubt the H&B DX3220 has got their first, as the players last reported firmware update (v01.07) was released 08 July 2004.

Cheers
