Important Update -- Please Note

I've been going back through some of the inexplicable errors and have found that most of the ones related to CCE encoding failures (such as the infamous "MPVA VBF ovf frame #" and the resulting DVD-RB error "ERROR: Encoder failed to create .M2V. Aborted." -- even some of the "Runtime 9" or "0006" errors) seem to be caused by exceptionally low bitrates on very small segments. I've also noted that the latest version of CCE won't allow you to enter a minimum bitrate less than 500Kbs...

So, getting to the point, I recommend that anyone experiencing any of these problems add the following line to his/her REBUILDER.INI file under the [Options] area:

MIN_BITRATE=500

On DVD-RB versions 0.83 and above this will become the default value.

Thanks,
jdobbs

yes, thanks...and I hope I never have to go that low.
hmmm, what does 500kbs look like on an encode?

The 500K is the setting for the minimum of what the AVERAGE bitrate can be for a segment (as well as the setting for the VBR minimum). There are LOTS of instances where 500Kbs is more than enough. Think of blank space or a screen that never changes (but isn't a still).

It is the new default value for this parameters; it means that it is embedded in the application and it is applied when no MIN_BITRATE line is present into the Rebuilder.ini file.

If such a MIN_BITRATE line is present, it overrides this new default.

Hope it is clear...

Cheers,
SD

I just ran into the "Runtime error 9. Subscript out of range." error for the first time. I'm using v0.74 right now, if I can fix this I figured I'd just wait until 0.83 was public and upgrade to that. I want to make sure I know what to do to apply this fix.

I open the rebuilder.ini file, and under section [Options] (or [CCE Options]?) I write in that line, but where? At the top of the list, the bottom, in alphabetical order? Or doesn't it matter?

Sorry but this doesnt fix the problem for me, I use the 0.82.1 free version, and I still get the Run Time Error 9.

I use VobBlanker to reduce the size of Extra and i read in the forum that small size block can cause this problem, so how to avoid this error.

Thx

What version are you using? There was an "Error 9" fix that went into v0.85.

Ok just register and tested with the 0.85 Pro version and I have the same error so it doesnt seems to be what you where thinking about.

The message appears as soon as I launch the encoding with the 1 click method, the same message appears with the 3 click version just after pressing prepare, so I think it surely does have with avisynth.

The program works great with orginal DVD that doesnt have been reduce using VobBlanker.

Will try other thing, if you need some information about my configuration just ask.

I use CCE SP trial Version 2.67.00.27 with EdCCE V1.81.

Could you specify the DVD you are working and exactly what you removed with VobBlanker? I hope it's NTSC R1 so I can get a test copy.

I'm working with " Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow" NTSC DVD Zone 1.

With VobBlanker I remove every thing except The Menu, VTS_01_0.VOB because if I blank it to I get a message saying Missing VTS_01 file and of course the movie.

I now try to encode using the mode keep only menu and movie and blank extra and other vob in the 0.85 Pro version to see what I get.

Ok I have tried different settings with the 0.85 Pro edition but I have another error message the infamous:
"Error 0006: DVD-RB has found an inconsistency in source data between the PREPARE and REBUILD phases. Aborting."

I try to encode the same movie without blanking it with VobBlaker but using the Menu and movie only option in DVD-RB

The message appear on the VTS_05_0.vob wich is the first vob of the movie. I reencode the movie using the 2.67 Trial version of CCE with EdCCE 1.81. I ve tried to change Decoder to DGDECODE.dll suggested in the forum but still no chance to get the movie rebuild after the encoding.

Please does anyone has an idea, beacaus I m completly lost, each try ended with this error, I m going to ive a try with another DVD to see what happens.

Thx
