clipping menu sound on standalone only! - not on comp..

Hi y'all!

As always im not sure if i post in the right forum :P - but the issue is related to my standalone player so... here we go:

I made a custom menu when i backed up my "Monster's Ball". But when i play it on my standalone, a Samsung SV-DVD1E, the audio in the menus is clipping a lot - dunno if thats the adequate term for it, but i think so - it's as if the sound is mixed with pop and crackles if u know what i mean..

Strange is that this only occurs when i play it on the standalone - on the comp and also on my Xbox the sound is fine!!

..oh, also: the sound on the movie itself is just fine, no problem there..

the audio in the menus i made is regular ac3 track, 2ch, 256kbit/s, made from wave files to ac3 with BeSweet (BeLight gui)

The dvd was authored with DVDmaestro 2.9, build 2915a.

so, to sum up: why is the menu audio (but not main movie audio) not played back right on my standalone, but plays fine on comp/xbox?

any thoughts, comments, solutions etc. are very welcome

thanx!
