dvd recorder?

hey, i've been pouring the web looking a searching, and I'm having trouble finding what I needed. I'd like a dvd recorder that writes -r(w) and plays xvid(all my xvids are ripped with ess support and bitrate control)
price is a bit of an issue, I'd prefer not to pay more than $200. If anyone has any bright ideas, the only ones I've found are 500-800 and have hard drives and stuff, which isn't what I want :-p If you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.
btw, region 1 :-p
