I read in the forum about this kinda problem they were told that they need OLD xvid builds! i searched here and there but i can't find a thing!
I got build 1 + 24 +36
i need the rest expecially the build 9 + 12
I entered the Umaniac I DLed the whole stuff and installed some builds bu right click on the .inf file...but when i go to the VDM things went bad! so another site with a good builds or another Idea of Joining/Merging Xvid files!

Well there are 53MB's (plus 20MB's worth of my own builds) worth there, I guess that makes it good? I copied over everything that I could find on my old CD's. Hopefully it isn't missing too much.

thank you all for replying!
@celtic Ok Celtic i'll DL the whole stuff

@lordadmira
my problem is....that i regularly cut the very first beginings of every movie i got ..about 1 Minute then I load this clip again into VDM and do the Subtitler filter (which says my name as a logo) then I wanted to Rejoin this clip to the rest of the movie!
but when sometimes I got dvdriped with old xvid build so can't be joined since the video stream is different....I solved this problem by DLing some old builds like the Build 1 ..and it worked so good
now I got some movies with a build 9..so I need this build!
of course I know the number of the build by the OSD of ffdshow
waiting for you comments and links to DL

You can look up builds here: http://gspot.headbands.com/xvid_version_mapping.html

Then you should be able to find a matching version, either on my site or some place else.

Think I might churn and upgrade from 512k/128k to 1.5Mb / 256k soon, should make things a little easier to download.

Why do u want to overlay ur name onto movies that u did not rip? Are u trying to steal other people's work? This whole thing seems way shady.

no I'm just using the AutoGK and it doesn't supprt filter or something!! yes sometimes I got some rips from my friends but I'm doing an ARCHIVING for all the movies and they (friends) delete them and come to me when they need them..so I think i deserve a logo!

Sounds to me like he is working for a group. cutting the first minute(usually rippers own logos), I could never be sure but I think that it is indeed fishy.

hey hey i do a ripping for my own but I share them with my pals! that's it...not put them on the net or uploading them
by the way..I wanna ask...why 90% of rips are Xvid?
i'm used to use the Divx codec with VDM and Divx audio 64 but now adays i think i'll shift to the Xvid world! what do you think guyz? any encouragement?! lol

Most rips are Xvid now because Xvid is the better codec now. By all means, use Xvid. But if ur working on a file that u urself did not rip, adding ur logo into the *video* stream is crap. Archiving is not enough justification for that. U can just add a video comment "Archived by Wesmosis" or something. That is plenty and even too much AFAIC. So I can't help u do something u shouldn't be doing.

@landadmira hey you are right...I admit it kinda strange
I'll use the abcAVI software!
thanx anyway
but is it also Xvid the best for mpg and dat files rather than DVD rips?
waiting....
I still have a problem with joing issue:
the original file it said in the properties 12 bit
but the one i Reecnoded is 24 bit...although i'm using the same build which is the build 36!
all the other stuff is similiar e.g. Resolutios..etc
so how cn I make a 12 bit clip from the Original big file?!
many buggy Qs but sorrry! :P

If you use full processing in VDub then it is always going to show 24bit (use search). Both the 12bit and 24bit one are the same internally.

if they are DV archives technically you should have the DVD's right? or your friends have them? why don't you borrow the DVD's and re encode them with the most current xvid? and adding a logo to a DVD archive is indeed pointless. your gonna want to keep the video as original.

@celtic_druid
you mean I should encode in the (fast compression or normal)
then the file will be in 12 bit?
and is itjoinable then with original file?

@ChronoCross
I have alot of original DVDs which i ripped but sometimes my pals have ripped the movie with older builds and they haven't got the DVD CD anymore!

waitng.......

also I notice a difference by using the Gspot:
the Original file (which I ripped by AutoGK v1.72b)
says in the UserData/Metadata:
[ISFT] VirtualDubMod 1.5.4.1 (build 2178/release)
[JUNK] VirtualDubMod BUILD 2178
[JUNK] relaease
[USER] XviD0036
[USER] XviD0036
[USER] XviD0036

in properties it's a 12 bit ?!

But the clip of which I reencoded by using Xvid
1-Single Pass
2-700 kbps
3-Quantization type H.263
4-GMC enabled
5-All other stuff as Default

Also it's a 24 bit ?!
full processing in VDM with Subtitler filter and it says in Gspot the next:
[ISFT] VirtualDubMod 1.5.4.1 (build 2178/release)
[JUNK] VirtualDubMod BUILD 2178
[JUNK] relaease
[USER] DivX999b000p
[USER] XviD0036
[USER] DivX999b000p

that's so strange! what the heck is Divx doing here? I think it's the thing which prevent me from joining this clip to the first file
although I'm using the same Xvid codec (the one with AutoGK 1.60 )
please help me to pass this problem...it drives me crazy ! (quoted by Britney!LOL)

You didn't bother searching did you? Like I said the 12bit and 24bit ones are exactly the same internally. Full processing means 24bit input, hence it reports 24bit. Fast recompress means 12bit YV12 input so it reports 12bit. Both files are interally YV12, same as any other MPEG4 file.

If you are going for the same settings, then why has one got bframes with packed bitstream enabled and the other not?
