Elta 8883A : subtitle issues

Just flashed my Elta 8883A with the firmware 5.0.3.5_2 from 28.05.2004(last at this time). The player is far better as the old 8882 but has new problems with subtitle display:
1.Characters are very small with to much space betwen and left centered.
2.He can display only lines with max 60 characters(including pauses) and only if divided in two (max 40 characters on one and the difference on other), so if you have a movie with longer lines or without "enter" sign after max. 40 characters they will be not displayed. It's really borring to reedit all the subitles for such a "compliance".
3.There is an unofficial firmware at www.etchie.szm.sk anyone tried it?

I dont think theres much you can do (except waiting if theres a new firmware maybe)- divx subtitles are really not very good with the elta.
There are tools wich let you replace the default font with a bigger one, but you cant make it much bigger as the same font is used as system font.
The modified firmware from etchie includes a narrower space character so the subtitles are better readable.
