Error on firmware upgrade

Hi, I have a Philips DVD 723.
I successfully upgraded its firmware 3 times and it always worked.

Now, since lastest firmware have annoying troubles with SVCDs, I tried to downgrade to the 2nd firmware I got.

I created a boot disk exaclty as some sites explain and I booted the disc (this method always worked fine on my DVD player).

It seems it is all right (as usual) but something strange appened. The message boot is on the display and I can't do anything. I can't open the tray ... no sign of life.

What can I do? Is it a way to reflash the bios?
