why wont mpc play my xvids?

I got some xvids that play fine in mediaplayer2 but not in media player classic. they open and freeze at frame 1. but it shows the first frame.
I have this xvid install. xvid-1.0-rc4-05042004.exe

get graphedit then see what the default decoder for xvid is under your directshow config, thats the one being used by wmp, then go to mpc's filter options and add that filter as a prefer overide

if you need more info you can probably find it in a search

o forgot to mention disable the aplicable internal filter first to check them.

and its not playing your video because one of your filters is doing something finniky.

Should be the same decoder being used in both. Guess maybe it could be MPC's internal AVI splitter, but then again you never said if it was an AVI.

hrmm try installing xvid dec betta3 its here http://koepi.roeder.goe.net/XviD-Dec-1.0-Beta3.exe

oh and in mpc do a filter override preffering the xvid dec beta rc3 that should fix your problem no matter what it is.

and make sure to use xvid as your fourcc. in all your xvid movies

pdottz : search in the direction celtic_druid pointed out : the AVI splitter of Gabest may be guilty. So download the latest version of MPC ( if it's not already done ), and if it doesn't work, make a bug report on the player forum in the thread related to MPC ( the big one ).

It's not an XviD issue ( since you're decoding with DivX5 ).

Furthermore, since you don't seem to have it installed, grab and install FFDshow. And read this, it will be easier for us to find what could be wrong.
