new disney dvd plavers

hello, has anyone seen the disney 13"tv and the dvd players to go with them? they come in mickey mouse or prinsess colors.well any way I bought the mickey mouse one and set it up. the manual says it won't play dvd+r,but it will play dvd-r. so I backed up lion king to a dvd-r using shrink 3.0 and nero6 the error on the screen says the same thing for both dvd+/- this disk cannot be played because of impropper format. I don't understand, this is the first dvd player that hasent played eather of +/-r disks. looks like it's made by memcorp (memorex electronic) has anyone herd of this ?
the model # is dvd2000-c
also I used compusa dvd-r disc could this be a problem ?

thanks for any help I'm in a real jam. kids really like it,and the wife thinks it's so cute and don't want to ruin the look ( because the tv stackes on top of the dvd player.)

If it was up to me,back to circuit city I would go!

Well if its disney

The manual will be an absolute treat but the product will be overpriced. I would suspect it has full compliance with all drm specs so will not play back a disc without say, a region code. Maybe it has an inbuilt list of titles it will only play from pressed DVD eg lion king mulan etc (only joking).

well it's not really over priced, was 99.00 for the dvd player, 119.00 for the tv, and you got a free am/fm walkman for buying both at circuit city.

but in shrink it says if you don't spesify the region it will make it region free. I will try again this time spesify my region. I'll post results.

back again,I slected region 1 and used nero's imiage recorder, then burned the imiage to a dvd-r and suprise, suprise it worked.
has anyone heard of having to spesify the correct region and not make it region free for a cirtin player to work ?

well anyway thanks for your help wolfman.
