Mpeg 4 Player Hackable??

i was wondering if the chipest firmware could be hack to do something like.... working with a Mkv playback filter?

Or someother way which makes Rv9 on Divx player works... ?

you'd have to be really good in reverse engineering. Most devices use a hardware decoder chip and an ARM chip.. the player software is based around the hardware with only few parts running on the ARM chip itself, making it pretty hard to squeeze new features out of a player.

I'd say: adding Matroska: unlikely, adding RV9: no way. If you want to play everything, you just need a PC and that's not going to change for a while.
