Do Standalone MPEG4 Players play from DVD-ROM?

Do any of these standalone avi&dvd players (like KISS etc) play media files (avi and/or mp3) burned on DVD-ROM in ISO format (DVD-R)?

I save a lot of space by having 6 divx movies on one DVD-R rather than 6 CD-ROMs and I was wondering if they are compatible. I know that most DVD players that have mp3 playing capability do that only from mp3-CDs and not from mp3-DVDs which is unclear to me why.

I think you will also find that all of the Mpeg4/DVD players can spin RAW Mpeg1 and 2 files on CD-R or DVD R/RW too!

So there would be no need to author an Mpeg1 file to the VCD (.dat) format. Or an Mpeg2 file to the DVD (.vob) format.

Cheers

To elaborate, our players also play .vob and .dat files burned onto CD or DVD-R. You can mix up any combination of supported file types on one disc and they are all accessible from the browser on the player.

what about file size?
could it play 3GB MPEG file?
Or I have to author it into VOB (and automatically break into 1GB pieces)?

When you say 'our players' you're talking about the 'AVX-100 DivX®-Certified DVD Player'!

The specs look good.

Actually, AVI could be bigger then 2GB (there is no 2GB limit).
Read AviMux manual, for instance. AviMux could create playable AVI files bigger then 2GB. AT least, PC plays them without any problems.
Unfortunately, my RJ4000 has a synch problem when plays these files (but it's a problem of its firmware, not AVI format).

But I take it that each Vob wuld be treated as an individual film, or is there some of way of linkinh them so that first vob1 is followed by vob2 etc? What is the problem with 2gb + files? is this firmware or problem of avi?
